COURS GENERAUX

Titre Principles of Stock Market Investing
Langue(s) du cours Anglais
Cours donné par M. Prof. Barry Secrest
Objectifs This practical course/workshop, which is given in English, provides a broad framework of financial markets in the US and around the globe. It is designed to introduce basic essential skills in managing financial assets (psychology, position sizing, market selection, exits, and entries). It covers topics in financial and investment fields providing students with interesting and practical knowledge which can be immediately applied to their investment decision making. Considerable research will be put on analysing investment ideas found in financial magazines, newsletters, and Internet sites.

Description Whether you are considering a career in portfolio management, or simply want to have a better understanding of the workings of the stock market for personal reasons, this workshop will give you the tools needed for making successful stock market investment decisions.

Motivations The course will follow the daily evolution of the financial markets, and each participant will be responsible for a virtual stock portfolio of $100,000. As traders, we will be looking for opportunities to profit from undervalued assets, wherever they may be found.

All investment decisions will be based on both fundamental and technical analysis. Teacher evaluation and feedback is weekly, giving students the opportunity to perfect their trading skills. Since research plays a preponderant role, students will be working with computers during the classroom sessions. Participants will be guided to learn via researching, analysing, summarizing, and debating, all with a practical dimension.
